It has is its origin and inspiration in the loves of D. Pedro de Portugal y Doña Inés de Castro, Galician which will become Queen of Portugal after dead. There we find the source where comes this story that we wanted to have like a river that together leads to the sea, and its title is found at that place who had hidden their story of love and death and gave place to the beautiful legend which is the birthplace deste story musical: A Quinta das Lagrima.

We walk the labyrinth the middle ages from the hand of the “Santa María” Cantigas de Alfonso X to then get into music, the rhythms born without borders, Raia compositions, wore the tradition of shore along the  as the “Canter of Guistola” the rich folklore Minho and two issues after you mountains and traditional Galician “Foliada de plane” theme.

Face to the West, Galicia and Portugal regarded this mystery unanswered is the Atlantic, an infinite horizon itself. That sea talks about Fernando Pessoa in his poem “Mar Português”, but there is another, which surcarn women and men in cruises, no return times, the sea work, poetic and real in the poem by Manoel antonio “Sós”.

One day Portugal rose full of carnations. At that time a new song was on “Venham mais cinco” José Afonso, that we permitimo versioning. Meanwhile, from this side of the River, Luis E. Batallán put beautiful music to the poem by Álvaro Cunqueiro, “Quen poidera namorala”, one leaves vu of the lyric poetry of the troubadours.

This work happens to occupy the number 23 of the history of the group more representative and admired of the music folk of our paie. Quinta das tears is thus a return to colors, the beauty and exquisite care of the works of Milladoiro.

A disc recorded in the studies of cormorant and in Casa de Tolos and featuring special collaborations with female voices Laura Amado and the Lisbon fado singer Mafalda Arnauth.

The design is again provided by Xosé M. Piñeiro , another companion of Milladoiro from “A Galicia de Maeloc”.
